Ava is curious about how evolutionary changes in gene regulation have shaped the human brain and other uniquely human traits. She trained with Howard Chang at Stanford University and Michael Greenberg at Harvard Medical School, developing expertise in functional genomics, stem cell models, and neuronal gene regulation. She is passionate about using new experimental approaches to ask questions at the intersection of evolution, development, and human disease.
